I am a mystic… an artist and an astrologer.
As I searched for my true creative expression throughout my life, I explored many mystical disciplines – such as Astrology, Reiki, Tarot, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Shamanism, Family Constellation, Angels, mythology, meditation and energy healing – among others.
I am also a self-taught contemporary artist and have been involved in the art world since 1999, when my artful journey began. I have recently included astrology into my offerings.
Taurus Sun, Virgo Moon, Virgo Rising… this is Me!
It has been an integral part of my life from a very young age, when my mother taught me the very basics which she knew. About eighteen years ago, I decided to delve more profoundly into this ancient science and became a forever student and practitioner of this magical and fascinating art.
I have completed courses with Debra Silverman Astrology, Hali Karla, Maya White, Mark Macintyre and Robert O’Hotto. My personal astrologer and mentor for over fifteen years, Patricia Chavarro, has been very influential in my education, knowledge and practice, and she is a blessing in my life.
Ellie’s most recent exhibition in January 2023 as a featured artist for the “Outside the Lines” show put on by collaborARTive. Her painting “La Pecera” was chosen as the magazine cover and the featured art for this expo. “Outside the Lines” was organized to champion the individuality of artists from both within and beyond the Bird Road Arts District. The unifier among the group, a studio practice in South Florida, results in a rich reflection of the region embedded in memories and experiences that result from the convergence of cultures and the transformations resulting from those interactions.
Through an organic process of gradually expanding the boundaries of invited participants, the curators of “Outside the Lines” developed a show informed by the human geography of South Florida. The eclectic reality of the region is that the population consists of different degrees of generational connections to places as varied as Colombia, Cuba, Jamaica, Venezuela, Israel, and of course, the United States. While for some artists, heritage is a central theme in their work, for others, the production leads to a less direct connection. For all artists in “Outside the Lines,” South Florida is the common thread.
